The Queen’s Debating Union holds weekly rounds where we discuss a wide variety of topics, ranging from politics and economics to social issues and sports to our own cases about Spongebob or Gorillas, virtually anything you would like to talk about. We have meetings and practice rounds twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as tournaments hosted by other universities weekly! When you get more comfortable with debate, you will be able to participate in tournaments online and in person against debaters from other universities!
Join us at any of our weekly meetings on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 pm in Jeffery Hall Room 127 starting on September 25, 2024. Our first event is on Thursday, September 25 at 7pm – our 181st Opening of the House. This is a show debate with free pizza, held in Jeffery 128. We also have a Novice Training Day on September 21 – where anyone can come and learn how to debate from the very basics! No experience required and no pressure to commit – just come out and meet some debaters and try out the activity! This will be held on the first floor of Kingston Hall.
